I just started creating music as "Windbreaker" after my best friend Jesse passed away unexpectedly. Ever since he passed I've sort of found a new voice and inspiration and I've been pretty much writing nonstop. Jesse was a part of my band and was always the guy encouraging me to write more solo music and release it but I always ended up discouraged. " I Can't Believe That You're Gone" is the last song Jesse and I worked on together and I really want it to be something special.
lyrics
I can't believe that you're gone
and I can't believe
this is the last song
that we'll ever play
but please
just
try to listen to his fingers on my guitar
I will remember that day
never thought it would be
the last
time
that we play
it's a shame
I never thought you would die
you
put my life
in perspective
you saved me from myself
but………..
why wasn't it
me?
did I put that impulse inside your head?
and no I never thought it would ever stick
and I thought you were smarter
we were stupid kids
and did I put these thoughts inside your head?
and when you got sad did that impulse click?
and is it all my fault?
I'm such a stupid kid
and why
why
why
wasn't it
me?
me?
I gotta be
(but did I put that impulse inside your head?)
what you wanted us to be
(but did I put that impulse inside your head?)
I gotta be what you wanted me to be
